Fan Selector Help - Selecting a Fan

Entering the Required Duty Point

Start by entering the duty point at which you want the fan to operate.

You can use the drop down boxes to choose different units of measure.

Note: Entering a flow of 0 (zero) causes all the fans in the range to be selected without making a duty point based selection.  Entering a resistance of 0 calculates at free air.

Clicking on the icon brings up a helper dialog to assist in the calculating of the required volume flow based on the size/type of room:

The Margin

Next enter the margins above and below the
required duty point that you would accept.

Note: Unless the Use strict margins when selecting option is checked in the Additional Parameters area then the fans returned will also include all those where the operating point is greater than the specified margin up the system characteristic curve.   This is because although the operating point is beyond the margin you specified, it has the potential to move back within bounds with the addition of resistance causing ancillaries etc.
